SharePoint Online Users Can’t access sites – “OneDrive and sites read-only”

Yeh! You are one of many… 😦

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we’ve made OneDrive and sites read-only while we do some maintenance.

This is the current status:

Office Admin center – Service health

SharePoint Online service is degraded

SP87701 – SharePoint Features – Service degradation

Title: Can’t access sites

User Impact: Users may be unable to access SharePoint Online sites.

More info: While the service is in read-only mode, users can access content on their SharePoint sites, but they can’t make any changes.

Current status: The service is still in read-only mode. We’ve restarted the network devices and are taking extra steps to check that this problem is repaired fully. In parallel, we’re routing SharePoint Online sites back to read-write mode.

Scope of impact: A few customers have reported this issue, and our analysis indicates that impact is specific to users served through the affected infrastructure.
